چکیده

We formally prove the ultimate statement: Local realistic theories for quantum measurements could not impose the commutative algebraic structure into the set of all quantum observables even if all quantum statistics (including every quantum state and every observable) could be reproduced by local realistic theories. Thus, it turns out that the result, using a pair of projectors, by Malley et al. [Phys. Lett. A 347, 51 (2005)] is applicable only to the Kochen-Specker (KS) theorem. Moreover, we also point out that an inefficient detector cannot be described by a projector. Hence, the proposal of empirical tests of Malley [Phys. Rev. A 58, 812 (1998)] for the KS theorem cannot rule out quantum efficiency issues and it cannot apply to realizable experiments. We also discuss nonlocality in the hidden-variable theory of the KS type in the Hilbert space formalism of quantum theory.

Noncommuting observables in quantum detection and estimation theory

In quantum detection theory the optimum detection operators must commute; admitting simultaneous approximate measurement of noncommuting observables cannot yield a lower Bayes cost. The lower bounds on mean square errors of parameter estimates predicted by the quantum-mechanical Cramer-Rao inequality can also not be reduced by such means.

Joint Probabilities Reproducing Three EPR Experiments On Two Qubits

Probabilities and correlations in EPR experiments. The EPR-Bohm-Aharonov [1] system of two correlated spin-half particles or qubits observed by spatially separated observers has often been used as an arena in which to probe fundamental questions about quantum theory. Typically there are four different configurations corresponding to four different experiments and one obtains no-go theorems on (...

Quantum Observables Algebras and Abstract Differential Geometry: The Topos-Theoretic Dynamics of Diagrams of Commutative Algebraic Localizations

We construct a sheaf-theoretic representation of quantum observables algebras over a base category equipped with a Grothendieck topology, consisting of epimorphic families of commutative observables algebras, playing the role of local arithmetics in measurement situations. This construction makes possible the adaptation of the methodology of Abstract Differential Geometry (ADG), à la Mallios, i...

Test of local realism with entangled kaon pairs and without inequalities.

We propose the use of entangled pairs of neutral kaons, considered as a promising tool to close the well known loopholes affecting generic Bell's inequality tests, in a specific Hardy-type experiment. Hardy's contradiction without inequalities between local realism and quantum mechanics can be translated into a feasible experiment by requiring ideal detection efficiencies for only one of the ob...

Violation of time symmetry

Recently, [arXiv:0810.3134] is accepted and published. We would like to study the relation between a local realistic theory and commutativity of observables in a finite-dimensional space. We would like to conjecture that a realistic theory of the Bell type (a local realistic theory) for events would not imply the commutative algebraic structure into the set of all observables if all experimenta...
